Music Publishing and Distribution on a Budget

The ultimate goal for an artist is to efficiently produce and promote his or her product without breaking the budget.  Affordable prices are the bottom line of the services needed.  And, if you do the math, you will get the reason for the title of this post!  Therefore, keep your attention close, and make some sense of the following paragraphs.  In these, we will make and outline a very reasonable budget and plan for your publishing and distribution needs.  First, we will cover the worldwide distribution needed for any musical act.  Second, we will cover the publishing income collection and licensing platform available at the best price.  And third, the direct connection you as an artist will need to have with your fans.  Take a look at the following numbered summary and its prices…

1.  World wide distribution to the major platforms and even physical distribution from CD Baby:
$49 per album as a one time set up fee.  This takes care of your distribution and warehousing needs after your production is ready.  Find this info here:  CD Baby Distribution Deal

2.  Royalty collection registration with Tune Core along with top of the line "Publishing and Admin Deal":
$75 one time fee and Tune Core collects all of your performance, mechanicals, sync, etc for you.  Find this info here:  Tune Core Publisinhg Deal

3.  Direct Sales to Fans and Fan Build-up (this is literally the next YouTube in audience traffic searching for new artists).  This is a FREE service to set up with "Bandcamp".  They do all of the set up and selling of your music without getting involved with distribution.  In other words, it goes directly from you (your Bandcamp.com site) to your fans.  Use their link in your blog, website, etc in order to maximize sales.  Remember that in order to reach the rest of your audience via all of the other distribution platforms, you already have option #2.  Find this information on Bancamp here.

You name your “own deal”.  No need to buy into unnecessary items.  Tune Core’s admin and publishing deal gets into the licensing prospects for your music.  This is a one-time fee.  However, CD Baby’s distribution is a fixed price to distribute a single or album.  The best thing about it is that you DO NOT PAY CD Baby a yearly amount to keep your music there.  Finally Bandcamp is gaining tremendous popularity for new musicians and bands.  Therefore, this option works like CD Baby’s deal.  Bandcamp will deduct a percentage from your sale.  After all of this has been said and done:  go get (or better yet: MAKE) a record deal the way you want it!!!
