How to play a power chord?

How to play a power chord?  Perhaps one of the most asked questions from guitar players!

A "power" chord speaks more to a tone quality than to a chord formula.

However, there is a simple formula we need to follow though.

The formula is a Root note plus the Fifth note on top.  So, the Root + P5 interval.

Examples:  C and G, A and E, and F and C.

The form is simple too…1st finger on the Root and 3rd finger on the string below and skipping a fret.

So there you have it!  Keep playing power chords :)
