Taking Control of YOUR Music, the "One-Stop-Shop" Way!

Taking control of YOUR MUSIC in just 2 simple steps.

With some of the common parameters of centralization in the music business field becoming obsolete, now more than ever an artist can become the master of his or her own domain.  The process is simple and concise.  The benefits: taking control of how your music gets published and essentially exploited for financial objectivity.  One quick note before diving into the objective of this article is that when we refer to an “artist” in this post, we are referring to an individual that is also involved in the composition of the musical work being produced exclusively or even partially.

In this paragraph, we will talk about the first step in the process of taking control of your musical work as an artist.  Tune Core, an umbrella of services for the independent artist is becoming the go-to-place to get your music heard and much more.  With competitors only offering an array of point-of-sale services, Tune Core has become one of the only virtual companies to extend its users, whether artists or publishers, the possibility of reaching more than just online stores.  As a leader in the music distribution industry, not only can an artist aspire to get their music placed on places like ITunes, but also have a creative team exploiting the artists’ music in the “synch” licensing world.  So, in a nutshell, Tune Core is now offering publishing and administrative deals in addition to their effective distribution services.  This is a great way of keeping your copyrights and maximizing your artistic income.

The second step in taking real control of your music comes from the other side of the job that Tune Core may not be able to get to in the midst of publishing and administering your work.  Even if they do get to it partially, it is in your best interest to have more ears to police on your music.  This second step comes from registering your music, whether an artist or publisher, with one of the Performing Rights Organizations, commonly known as PRO’s.  The registration is free.  The 3 PRO’s that take care of making sure that you get paid for the public performances of your work are ASCAP, SESAC, and BMI.  Their membership is free.  If you are a publisher, it is in your best interest to register with all 3.  That way your catalog is covered.  If you are an artist, then you can only register with one of these PRO’s.

YES!  The singer/songwriter…artist/performer…composer/producer…. etc. can all reside under an umbrella of services and use Tune Core as the one-stop shop.
